Monthly emolument

Rs. 4000/- (Rupees Four Thousand only). Additional honorarium shall be paid to Research Assistants going for field visits as Field Investigators.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must:

  1. Be currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctoral programme at CNLU.
  2. Have proficiency in MS Office, Excel, PowerPoint, online legal databases, and data management.
  3. Demonstrate strong academic credentials, research aptitude, and excellent legal and academic writing skills.
  4. Have proficiency in Hindi and English. Preference shall be given to candidates with:
    1. Prior research experience;
    2. Publications, presentations, or participation in research projects;
    3. Familiarity with empirical research methods and field surveys;
    4. Knowledge of Panchayati Raj Institutions and rural justice systems.

Disqualifications

The following students shall not be eligible:

  • Any student who has been found guilty of academic misconduct, or has been issued a show-cause notice by the University.
  • Students having less than 75% attendance.
  • Students with backlog(s) in academics.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Minimum four hours of engagement every working day.
  • Assist in literature review and in finalising research design, methodology, and data collection tools for impact assessment.
  • Draft applications and emails for securing access to field sites and obtaining official permissions, wherever required.
  • Conduct field visits where required and ensure the quality and consistency of collected data.
  • Assist in data entry, transcription, translation, data cleaning, data analysis, identification of patterns and relationships, and interpretation of findings.
  • Actively participate in meetings of the research team and present the progress of research to the Principal Investigator (PI) whenever required.
  • Coordinate with the Principal Investigator, Research Associate and the research team to ensure timely completion of project milestones.
  • Assist in the preparation of drafts of the detailed Report of the entire study and other project-related outputs.
  • Ensure strict adherence to ethical standards and confidentiality norms.
  • Perform any other research-related tasks assigned by the Principal Investigator.

Candidates should possess:

  • Strong research and analytical abilities;
  • Excellent drafting, communication and coordination skills;
  • Ability to work in team/ independently and meet deadlines;
  • Familiarity with qualitative and quantitative research methods;
  • Interest in local governance, access to justice, and Panchayati Raj institutions.

Selection Process

Shortlisted candidates may be invited for an interview (online/offline). The decision of the Selection Committee shall be final.

  • Date of Interview: To be notified.
  • Commencement of Engagement: 1 st July 2026.

  1. This engagement is purely temporary and project-specific. No TA/ DA shall be paid during the term of engagement.
  2. Candidates shall have to produce the original document at the time of appearing for the interview, or after selection, as required.

  4. The appointee shall have no claim for the permanent post in future.
  5. The University reserves the right to relax any of the qualifications, experience, etc., in deserving cases, as deemed fit by the Selection Committee.
  6. Selection will be made purely based on the candidate’s previous records and performance in the interview.
